Holy Trinity Sunday Year A - 11/6/2017 - Gospel: 3:16-18
The identity of Jesus
Jesus identifies himself as Son of God. As God's Son, God is His Father and the relationships between the Father and the Son is incredible bonded and extraordinary unique. The bond is so strong that nothing can separate them from each other. It is so united that the Son could say he shares the same will, the same level of thinking and of feelings, united both in mind and heart with the Father.

The Son can do nothing by himself, he can do only what he sees the Father doing and whatever the Father does the Son does too. Jn 5,19.....My aim is not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me v.30

The Son has completely trusted the Father and with love that he has entrusted His life in God's hands and the Father has commissioned the Son to the world and through the cross the Son saves the world. The Father gave his only Son Jesus to the world and Jesus gained not just part of the world but the entire world to God the Father. Our act of charity may be small but God is able to magnify it to be plenty.

Jesus lived in the world and loved the world so much that before departing from it to return to God the Father, Jesus gave the world his Spirit to be with us always. It is through Jesus we know the Trinitarian God, one God in three persons.

Jesus reveals to us the third person of God and she will be with us always till the end of time. Jesus came from the Father and the Holy Spirit came from Jesus, the three persons of one God are equal, share the same substance and are united in God's love.

When the Advocate comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who issues from the Father Jn 15,26

Through Jesus we know the will of God the Father to save the human race. Through Jesus we know God loves us.

God loves the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not be lost but may have eternal life Jn 3,16

Through Jesus we know we are united in God's love. He prays to the Father for unity.

Father, may they be one in us, as you are in me and I am in you Jn 17,21.... I want those you have given me to be with me where I am Jn 17,24

Through Jesus we know 'the Way, the Truth and the Life' (Jn 14,6) and the Spirit sanctify 'the Way, the Truth and the Life' and through Jesus we come to know the Father.

It is Jesus who is the beginning of the revelation of the three persons of God and through Jesus we learn the unique relationships of the three persons. They are united in the saving acts and unconditional love for mankind.
